Treasures from the archives way back!

I had a request for photos from The Pittsburgher 250 at Heidelberg. It took some digging but I was able to find negatives from the 1972 and 1973 events.

The negatives had been misfiled so it took a bit of a search. While searching I found some treasures that I had never seen before.

Bob moved to Florida in the late ‘50’s. Although the first negative has seen better days, the impact of the image left me awestruck. I had to do an internet search on who Dumont Smith was, but I feel pretty happy that Bob was there to take the photo in 1959 at Eau Gallie Speedway.

The second negative caught my attention for a well known name. I recognized Augie Pabst from the well known family famous for Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. This photo was taken at Daytona Stadium also in 1959. After printing it, it was cool to see Augie wheelin’ it!
