The August 22nd issue of the article in the Gater News read “Johnson Nips Moore at Ransomville Speedway”, but it sounds like a commanding win by the Duanesburg, NY driver to me.
Johnson would start in 16th position, but by the 10th lap he would take the lead from Mike Granton. Davey Moore made a charge through the field as well and would challenge Jack but to no avail. Merv Treichler, Mike McLaughlin, and Mike Granton rounded out the top five.
It was Jack’s third trip to Ransomville that season, and he left that night with a record of two wins and a second place finish.
The modified feature finish went: Jack Johnson, Davey Moore, Merv Treichler, Mike McLaughlin, Mike Granton, Alan Johnson, Harvey Hainer Jr, George Treanor, Harry Sittler, and Ross Holmes.
